About shared memory
Some Intel-based Mac computers feature both an integrated and a discrete Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Others may feature only one GPU, which can be either an integrated or discrete GPU.
A discrete GPU provides high-performance graphics support using discrete video memory. An integrated GPU provides effective graphics support and shares video memory with the main system.
For Mac computers with both integrated and discrete GPUs, some models allow you to use macOS to decide which GPU to use for rendering graphics. Other models automatically switch between discrete and integrated graphics depending on the task. For more information on models that switch between integrated and discrete GPUs, see:
Graphics performance
For best graphics performance, your computer should have two same-size SO-DIMMs installed, one in each slot. When memory is installed in your Mac in same-size pairs, the computer gains some performance benefits from the memory being interleaved.
If you upgrade the memory in your Mac, make sure you have matching SO-DIMMs (both in memory size and speed) in each slot for the best graphics performance. Systems with integrated memory already benefit from having matched pairs of memory installed.

Pros
Perfect driver for 2k/xp
Cons
Does not support Win3.11, Win95, Win98, WinME, Vista, Win7, Win8
Summary
CNET's review is wrong about OS support by this driver,
Intel does publish linux driver. Note also that a guy at Intel said that this driver might work in older OS by manual install.

Xbox One Controller Driver For Mac
Pros
Very nice GUI display, easy to install.
Cons
I needed a resolution of 800X500 but the nearest 1.6:1 aspect was 1280X800. I have a 1.6:1 aspect monitor. The characters at 1280X800 are very small.
Summary
Still, nice to replace an outdated driver. Very nice product.
Pros
unable to make driver work
Cons
unable to load and make run on windows 7 64 bit

Hey Genius! this is a Windows 2000 / Windows XP driver! it is not even a 64-bit driver! It is a 32-bit driver. even my mom knows you can't install a 32-bit windows 2000/xp driver onto a windows 7 x64 system.
