No regression. Discovery of networked printer is much faster. Nice to see this as a universal binary too!
Note that a permissions fix and reboot were necessary to eliminate some odd screen anomalies in the print dialogue box.

Alright, I found actually two drivers for the HP PSC 500 (Gutenprint and hpijs). The only thing is my Mac won't recognize it. The printer uses a parallel connection, so I have that plugged into the printer. HP PSC 2210v Printer driver download. HP PSC 2210v All-in-One Printer cartridges. Black Original Ink HP 56 Cartridge (~520 pages ), HP 57 Tri-color Inkjet Print Cartridge (~500 pages), HP 58 Photo Inkjet Print Cartridge (~140 pages).

my mac with osx 10.4.2 worked well with HP all-in-one psc 2510 under the 6.3.4 software in wireless mode. Downloading and installing the upgrade is ennoying in that the HP setup assistant automatically starts for 7 pages of information and then does not quit. No way to get rid of unless force-quit, but reboot, or switching user brings it back.
Oddly enough I am able to print and fax and..etc.
Since I installed the HP new drivers I lost connection with my blue-tooth headset and there is no way to get this back other than un-installing the HP software.
Stick with the old software untill HP has debugged.

Well no problems downloading or installing this upgrade and yes I now have all the functions on my Officejet 7410.
Paper trays are selectable, wireless works from G5 iMac and Powerbook and it prints from my ethernet connected PC. ( Yes but only because we use a Windows only program-no Mac substitute available)
I am using the latest version of Tiger and can finally have some faith in HP.
This upgrade doesn't work on my older HP 7130 as it cannot be seen by the installer.
Life is not perfect but it is getting better.

My last review, over 18 monts ago praised this driver, but until now it has regressed into worthlessness. FINALLY, this is an update worth installing. I did have to run the HP Uninstall application, repair permissions, and reboot before getting a clean install.
This is a must-have for anyone who have been ENDURING this long saga of mediocrity.

I was the unfortunate owner of the now-obsolete PSC 950xi, a USB device that was at best, extremely fragile. I took the plunge to purchase the PSC 2510, and I am VERY pleased.
Yes, there are some minor wrinkles in the software, but THIS is the printer/scanner/copier to get as a home network printer.
Anyone who has been rightfully dissatisfied with HP's earier USB-based offerings should give this product a serious look.

I bought a 2510 a week ago and it is a pretty amazing piece of hardware. Scanning, faxing, copying, printing, plus networking (100baseT + WiFi) all for under $400. I've found the print drivers to be very solid, but some of the other all-in-one functionality is a little quirky. Frequently I find that scanning from my mac won't work, and that I have to rerun their setup assistant to 'find' the scanner again. So I look forward to further releases to enhance stability, but even now it's an amazingly versatile device. I'm runnning Mac OS X 10.3.2 at the moment.
The scanner also supports four type of camera cards, and allows you do preview/print without using the computer at all. You can also mount the cards remotely from the printer to your mac via smb:// which is pretty handy. So I think my usb CF reader is redundant now.
