Acer X223w Input Not Supported in OS 9 Restart I have a PowerMac G4 with a Rage 128 Pro Graphics Card, running OS 10.3.9 - the monitor ACER X223w 22' widescreen works fine in OS X, the problem I'm having is that I need to restart my computer in OS 9 to use my scanner and I get a message saying 'input not supported'. Similar to the P223W we reviewed earlier, Acer's X223W is a 22in widescreen PC monitor. It sports identical specifications, but comes with a less fancy design and a slightly reduced price. Would have been ideal if all compatible operating environments had been listed (as is, I just took a chance and tried it - luckily, it worked).

Summary

File was named 'X223Wv Vista WHQL Driver.zip', implying Vista, but it worked perfectly with Win2K .. and I'd say it's a good bet it'll do fine in WinXP also. (Why didn't Acer make this easily available on the CD that came with my monitor?! <shakes head in disbelief>)

My only comment really is to the person who left the other review. It's not a set up program. It's a DRIVER if you don't know how to update drivers please hand your computer over to someone that can.

I have to agree. I'm no novice at installing drivers, and this one does not install either via context menu or device manager. Come on, Acer, you can do better than this.
Win7, sp1, x86.

maybe that's because its the actual driver, not a driver installation package.. this is the file you tell your computer to look for, there is NO need to have a whole exe file.. file worked FINE for the 5 of them that we put in on terminals at our company..
Try not to review something that works as garbage.. this file works.
